Pep Guardiola reacts to Man City signing Erling Haaland

Pep Guardiola has backed Erling Haaland to 'adapt quickly' to Manchester City's style of play next season.

After a protracted transfer saga, Haaland was finally confirmed as a City player on Tuesday and will join for an initial fee of around £55m at the end of the season.

Guardiola was quizzed on his arrival for the first time after his side's 5-1 away victory over Wolves on Wednesday evening.

"Big congratulations to the club, he is signed for the next years," he said.

"He is a young talented player, I'm very pleased he decided to come and join us. Next season we are going to work together and hopefully he can settle.

"We will help him to settle as soon as possible in terms of Manchester and a house. I am pretty sure he is going to adapt quickly to the way we want to play."

Haaland's career goal record is staggeringly good, with the Norwegian netting a stunning 85 goals in just 88 appearances for Borussia Dortmund since he joined the club in 2020. Prior to this he enjoyed an equally prolific but brief spell with Red Bull Salzburg.
