Performance of Ghanaian players abroad I

As many as four Ghanaian players scored abroad after Saturday’s round of matches. Akyereko Frimpong Manson has more.

England:

Liverpool loanee David Amoo warmed the bench for Hull City which improved their play-off chances with a 1-0 win at Coventry City.

Lloyd Sam is yet to make a return to the Leeds United first team squad missing out in their 0-0 draw with Ipswich Town at the Elland Road.

Patrick Agyemang watched from the stands as Queens Park Rangers stretched their lead at the top of the log to ten points with a 2-1 win over ten-man Crystal Palace.

In the League One, Jo Osei Kuffour played the last 40 minutes for Bristol Rovers but could not help avoid a 0-1 defeat to Huddersfield Town to remain second from the bottom.

Italy:

Ex-Ghana skipper Stephen Appiah sat on the bench for Cesena which fought from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Juventus at the Stadio Dino Manuzzi.

In the Serie B, Isaac Cofie sealed the victory for Piacenza with an 83rd minute strike.

Piacenza won 2-0 against Crotone to make it three wins out of three games.

Livorno brushed aside Torino 2-0 to move to sixth place on the log.

AS Roma loanee Ahmed Barusso played the full 90 minutes for Livorno.

Yaw Asante set up Grosseto's third goal when he came off the bench to replace Panagiotis Tachtsidis in the 59th minute in their 3-2 home win over US Pescara.

Holland:

Kwame Quansah scored on the 50th minute mark for Heracles Almelo which thumped ten-man Excelsior Rotterdam 4-1.

Quansah nodded home the second after a goalmouth melee.

Crocked Nana Kwasi Asare has not recovered from his ankle injury and watched his FC Utrecht's 1-0 slim win over FC Groningen at home from the stands.

Germany:

Anthony Annan starred for Schalke 04 in their 2-1 win over Frankfurt at the Veltins Arena.

Left-back Hans Adu-Sarpei was not the Schalke first team.

Isaac Vorsah played at central defence for TSG Hoffenheim which ended their four match winless streak by downing leaders Dortmund 1-0 at home.

In the Bundesliga II, Eric Agyemang opened the scoring on the 13th minute for Burghausen in their 4-0 hammering of Koblenz.

France:

The Ayew brothers set up both goals for Olympique Marseille which moved within a point of leaders Lille with a 2-0 win at Rennes.

Black Stars defender John Boye was an unused substitute for Rennes.

Belgium:

Right-back Daniel Opare played full throttle for Standard Liege as they edged Charleroi 2-0 in an away duel.

Striker William Owusu Acheampong replaced Lukas Van Eenoo on the 69th minute for Cercle Brugge when they lost 0-1 to KAA Gent.

Rahim Ayew was replaced on the half hour mark while Mensah Akwetey came off the bench in the 72nd minute as Lierse SK held KSC Lokeren to 1-1 draw.

Abdul Yekini Iddi played the first 45 minutes for KV Mechelen which shared the spoils with Germinal Beerschot in one-all draw.

Serbia:

Red-hot Prince Tagoe scored his fourth goal in three games for Partizan Belgrade in their 2-1 home victory over OFK Belgrade.

Duo Awal Issah Mohammed and Lee Addy helped Red Star Belgrade to post a 2-0 win over Jagodina.

Portugal:

Ishmael Yartey was in fantastic shape when he helped Beira Mar to a 3-1 win over visiting Pacos Ferreira.

Yartey set up the Beira Mar's first goal.

Norway:

Manchester City midfielder Mohammed Abu scored his first goal for his loan club Stromsgodset in an exhibition game against Asker.

Abu scored from a long range effort on the 53rd minute.

Adam Kwarasey and Razak Nuhu were all in action in the 6-2 win.

Denmark:

Enoch Adu Kofi lasted the entire duration for FC Nordsjælland which held FC Midtjylland to a 2-2 drawn game at the SAS Arena.
