European football specialist, Reuben Obodai brings you first installment update of how Ghanaian players performed in abroad between Friday and Saturday.

There were some great performances from Ghanaian players who played on Friday and Saturday.

Alhassan Wakaso, who played admirably in the win over FC Porto last week, emerged as the hero for Vitoria Guimaraes after handing them a vital win.

Bernard Mensah was named man-of-the-match in Kaysperispor win over Fenerbahce following his all-round display in the match where he scored a goal. In that same game, Andre Ayew who is gradually becoming an important figure for Fenerbahce opened his scoring account.

Still in Turkey, Caleb Ekuban endeared himself to the Trabzonspor faithful with his debut strike in their second win of the campaign.

Kasim Nuhu is reported to have withdrawn from the Black Stars squad for next week's AFCON qualifier match against Kenya after being stretchered off the pitch in Hoffenheim win over Frieburg.

ENGLAND

Daniel Amartey cameoed for Leicester City in their 2-1 defeat against Liverpool at the King Power Stadium.

Dennis Odoi played full period of action for Fulham FC as they drew 2-2 with Brighton at the Amex Stadium.

Ghanaian duo Jeffrey Schlupp and Jordan Ayew were taken off in the 76th minute for Crystal Palace in their 2-0 defeat to Southampton at the Selhurst Park.

Christian Atsu cameos for Newcastle United in their 2-1 loss against Manchester City

Collin Quaner missed Huddersfield 1-1 draw at Everton through injury.

In the Championship, Albert Adomah was left out of Aston Villa matchday squad in their 4-1 defeat at Sheffield United.

Andy Yiadom played full period of action for Reading FC as they suffered a 2-1 defeat at home to Sheffield Wednesday.

In League One, Tarique Fosu returned from injury to cameo for Charlton Athletic in their 2-1 win at Southend United.

Kwesi Appiah played 61 minutes for AFC Wimbledon in their 3-0 defeat at Burton.

Joe Dodoo played 45 minutes for Blackpool in their goalless draw at Walsall.

Thomas Partey picked a booking but played full throttle for Atletico Madrid in their 2-0 loss at Celta Vigo.

Yaw Yeboah did not feature in CD Numancia 3-2 defeat at Lugo after he was granted permission to return to Ghana to renew his visa.

Kasim Nuhu suffered an injury during TSG Hoffenheim 3-1 win over SC Freiburg.

Issah Abass watched from the stands as his new teammates FSV Mainz 05 laboured to draw 1-1 at FC Nuremburg.

Agyemang Diawusie warmed the bench for Ingolstadt in their 3-2 win over Aue.

American-born Joseph Claude-Gyau was relegated to Duisburg as he missed their 1-0 defeat at home to Greuther Furth. David Atanga also missed the match for the victors through injury.

Braydon Marvin Manu snatched a point for Hallescher in their 1-1 draw with VfL Osnabruck. Marcel Appiah missed the game for Osnabruck..

Steffen Nkansah warmed the bench for Eintracht Braunschweig in their 3-0 loss at Unterhaching.

ITALY

Kwadwo Asamoah recovered from a thigh injury to play 90 minutes for Inter Milan in their 3-0 victory over Bologna. Godfred Donsah missed the game for the losers through injury.

In the Serie B, Emmanuel Gyasi came off the bench to hit the winner for Spezia in their 3-2 victory over Brescia.

FRANCE

Enoch Kwateng played full throttle for Nantes FC in their 3-2 win at Strasbourg. Majeed Waris cameoed for the victors.

Grejohn Kyei who has been linked with a move to RC Lens was an unused substitute for Stade de Reims as they pip Lyon by 1-0 at home.

John Boye missed Metz FC 2-0 win over in-form RC Lens through injury. Grejohn Kyei made his debut for the losers as a substitute.

Lawrence Ati Zigi warmed the bench for Sochaux in their 1-0 win over Beziers.

Ebenezer Assifuah was an unused substitute for Le Havre in their 3-1 win over Orleans.

Emmanuel Ntim warmed the bench for Valenciennes as they were hammered 4-0 at home by Clermont.

In the Bundesliga 2, Reuben Acquah played the entire period of action for LASK Juniors as they suffered a 1-0 defeat at Neustadt.

Gideon Mensah missed Leifering FC 1-0 defeat at Austria Lustenau through injury.

Kelvin Yeboah climbed from the bench to snatch a point for Wattens in their 2-2 stalemate with SV Kapfenberg. Prince Mensah played full throttle for SV Kapfenberg.

Kennedy Boateng excelled in a three-man defense for Ried in their 3-0 won over Horn.

BELARUS

Gideon Baah excelled for FC Gomel as they pipped Isloch Minsk 1-0 at away.

Joel Fameyeh was taken off in the 90th minute for Dinamo Minsk in their 2-1 won over FC Minsk.

BELGIUM

Caleb Ekuban climbed off the bench to open his scoring account for Trabzonspor as they white-washed Galatasaray 4-0 at home.

In the second-tier league, Mahatma Otoo played 45 minutes for Balikesirspor in their 2-1 win at Elazigspor.
