Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris marked his return to the Lorient first team squad with a graceful brace in their win in the French top-flight on Saturday. 

Meanwhile former Asante Kotoko midfielder Daniel Nii Adjei scored both goals to help TP Mazembe annex the CAF Super Cup title while promising youngster Bernard Tekpetey scored twice for Schalke 04 in the German Reserves league.

And, while there was goals for Divine Naahm Elton Acolatse and Johnathan Opoku Agyemang and Kingsley Sarfo in the Netherlands and Sweden respectively, defenders Razak Nuhu, Nana Akwasi Asare and Lawrence Lartey were all sent off in their respective games.

GERMANY

Ghana-target Gideon Jung played the full 90 minutes for Hamburg SV when they held Eintracht Frankfurt to a 0-0 stalemate on Friday.

Daniel Opare lost his place in the Augsburg squad when they claimed a 1-0 away win over Hanover 96.

In the Bundesliga II, defender Davidson Drobo-Ampem sat on the St Pauli bench when they lost 3-1 against FSV Frankfurt.

Manfred Osei-Kwadwo could not make the Kaiserslautern for their 2-2 draw with Heidenheim on Saturday.

Both Philemon Ofosu-Ayeh and Joseph Baffo played for Eintracht Braunschweig who shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw with Karlsruher. Baffo was replaced in the second-half.

Still in Germany and in the third-tier, there was no Evans Nyarko in the Holstein Kiel side that drew 0-0 with Stuttgarter Kickers. Erich Berko also missed out of the Kickers team for the game.

In other games midfielder Kwame Kusi was unused by Fortuna Cologne in their 4-1 battering of Wehen.

Mainz II's posted a 3-1 win over Stuttgart II on Saturday. Ghanaian forward Prince Owusu was not in the Stuttgart team for the game.

Bernard Tekpetey scored a brace for Schalke II in their 4-2 loss at Oberhausen on Saturday.

ENGLAND

In the FA Cup, Baba Rahman played the entire minutes of the game for Chelsea when the Blues mauled Manchester City 5-1 on Sunday.

English-born Ghanaian midfielder Hiram Boateng could not make the Crystal Palace squad for their trip to Tottenham Hotspur which they won 1-0.

In the Championship, attacker Elvis Manu recovered from sickness to play the last 15 minutes for Huddersfield in their 1-0 win against Wolves.

In the League Two, experienced attacker Derek Asamoah came off the Carlisle United bench in the 82nd minute to play in their 1-0 win over Stevenage.

ITALY

Juventus and Bologna shared the spoils in a 0-0 draw at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara. Midfielder Godfred Donsah played the full 90 minutes for the Rossoblu but Kwadwo Asamoah was not in the Juventus squad due to injury.

Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu returned from suspension to play the entire 90 minutes for Udinese when the Little Zebras succumbed to a 2-1 away defeat at Genoa on Sunday.

Former Inter Milan midfielder Alfred Duncan flourished in midfield for Sassuolo who overcame a tough Empoli side 3-2.

Afriyie Acquah returned from injury but was not in the Torino side that drew 0-0 with Carpi. Midfielder Isaac Cofie came off the Carpi bench to play in the game.

Raman Chibsah was introduced in the last 2 minutes of normal time to play for Frosinone in their 0-0 stalemate with Lazio.

Meanwhile in the Serie B, forward Richmond Boakye-Yiadom could not make the Latina squad for their 0-0 draw at Bari. But duo Isaac Donkor and Maxwell Acosty started the game for Bari and Latina respectively. Youngster Nelson Atiagli sat on the Latina bench for the game as well as Kingsley Boateng for Bari.

Bright Addae played in central defence for Ascoli who won 1-0 against Como on Saturday.

Ransford Selasi warmed the bench for Pescara when they lost 2-1 against Cagliari.

Amidu Salifu came off the Brescia bench to play in their 1-0 loss at Modena. Prince Besea was unused by Modena.

In the Serie C, Caleb Ekuban and Isaac Ntow both played for Renate in their 1-0 win over Reggiana.

Former Fiorentina defender Nii Nortey Ashong played the entire minutes of the game for Lucchase who drew 0-0 with Pistoiese.

Dennis Kumih was introduced in the second-half by Rimini who beat Pontedera 2-0.

Elsewhere forward Emmanuel Gyasi played the full 90 minutes for Carrarese in their 1-1 draw with Arezzo. Moro Al-Hassan was unused.

Moses Odjer played the full 90 minutes for Salernitana when they drew 1-1 with Crotone.

SPAIN

Black Stars midfielder Bernard Mensah lost his place in the Getafe side that were battered 3-0 at Levante on Friday.

Midfielder Wakaso Mubarak was not in the Las Palmas squad that were beaten 2-1 by visiting Barcelona.

Winger Christian Atsu could not recover from injury in time to play in Malaga's 1-1 draw with giants Real Madrid on Sunday afternoon.

Thomas Partey remains injured and out of the Atletico Madrid side that shared the spoils in a 0-0 draw with Villarreal.

Inaki Williams suffered an injury and was replaced in the 37th minute when his Athletic Club side were beaten 1-0 by Real Sociedad.

In the Segunda Division, goalkeeper Razak Brimah manned the post for Cordoba in their 3-1 away win over Ponferradina.

Defender Kassim Nuhu played 52 minutes for Real Mallorca in their 2-2 draw with Gimnastic.

Almeria drew 1-1 with Alaves and Ghanaian midfielder Fatau Mohammed played the entire game for Almeria.

NETHERLANDS

AZ Alkmaar posted a triumphant 4-1 thrashing of visiting FC Groningen on Saturday. Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Derrick Luckassen came off the bench in the 79th minute to play for Alkmaar.

There was no Rodney Antwi in the FC Utrecht side that defeated Willem II 2-1 on Sunday.

Meanwhile Roda JC held Feyenoord to a 1-1 pulsating draw. Ghanaian Edwin Gyasi was not in the Roda squad for the game.

German-born Ghanaian defender Marcel Appiah suffered an injury and was replaced in the 41st minute as his NEC Nijmegen side held Heerenveen to a 1-1 draw. Marvin Ofori-Appiah could not make the squad for the game.

Midfielder Thomas Agyepong who is on loan at FC Twente was unused by the Enschede side in their 3-0 battering of relegation-bound Cambuur.

Manchester City loanee Divine Naah scored the opening goal for NAC Breda in their 5-0 drubbing of ten-man Fortuna Sittard.

Johnathan Opoku Agyemang scored the fourth goal for VVV Venlo who travelled to beat Helmond Sport 4-1.

Elton Acolatse scored his first goal of the season for Jong Ajax when they won 2-1 at Oss on Friday. Ghanaian defender Leeroy Owusu who is capped by the Dutch at various youth levels was sent off in the 66th minute.

Raymond Gyasi and Erixon Danso both played for Emmen who held Jong PSV to a 0-0 draw.

BELGIUM

Ghanaian defender Mitch Apau played full throttle for Westerlo who suffered a humiliating 6-0 loss at Club Brugge.

Winger Frank Acheampong played 75 minutes for Anderlecht who lost 1-0 at Waasland-Bereven. Both teams finished the game with ten men.

Nana Akwasi Asare was sent off while in action for Gent in their disappointing 5-2 loss at KV Oostende.

Ghana youth forward Benjamin Tetteh failed to make the squad grades at Standard Liege when they defeated Charleroi 3-0 on Saturday.

Former New Edubiase United midfielder Asiedu Attobrah made the Kortrijk squad for their 3-0 win over St. Truiden. But he was unused.

Samuel Asamoah was a bench warmer for OH Leuven when they lost 3-1 at Mouscron Peruwelz.

Lokeren and Genk shared the spoils in a 0-0 draw. Denis Odoi started the game for Lokeren but Bennard Kumordzi was unused by Genk.

In the Second Division, former Liberty Professionals starlet Eugene Ansah came off the Lommel United bench to play the last 1 minute of normal time in their 3-0 win over St. Gilloise.

William Owusu played the entire 90 minutes for KSV Roeselare who drew 2-2 with Deinze.

Kwame Nsor is still injured and missed FC Seraing's 2-0 home loss against Lierse SK. None of the seven Ghanaian players was in the Lierse squad for the game.

FRANCE

Striker Majeed Waris was restored to the Lorient starting line-up and scored a brace for the Oranges in their 4-3 win over Guingamp on Saturday.

Elsewhere in Paris, forward Grejohn Kyei missed Stade Reims's 4-1 defeat at Paris Saint-Germain due to injury.

Manchester City loanee Yaw Yeboah could not make the Lille squad for their 1-0 win over nine-man Olympique Lyon.

Defender Dennis Appiah played at right-back for Caen when they emerged 1-0 victors over Stade Rennes on Sunday.

Ghana defender Jonathan Mensah was axed from the Evian TG side that drew 1-1 with Bourg Peronnas.

In other games, 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup Ghana youth defender Emmanuel Ntim warmed the bench for Valenciennes who lost 1-0 at Tours.

In the third-tier league, midfielder Joachim Adukor was not unused by Beziers who were beaten 1-0 by visiting Orleans.

Elsewhere former Ghana U17 and U20 midfielder Charles Boateng was booked in the 78th minute and played the full 90 minutes for Avranches who lost 2-1 at Colmar.

SERBIA

Obeng Regan came off the Cukaricki bench to play in their in their 1-1 draw with Metalac. Defender Lee Addy was not in the Cukaricki team for the game.

Former Techiman City midfielder Francis Kyeremeh played for Jagodina when they were humiliated 3-0 at Borac.

TURKEY

Elsewhere in the Turkish Super Lig, defender John Boye was not in the Sivasspor team that lost 2-1 at Konyaspor.

Samuel Inkoom flourished in defence for Antalyaspor in their 2-1 win over Rizespor.

AUSTRIA

Germany-born Ghanaian midfielder Reagy Ofosu played the full 90 minutes for Grodig in the Bundesliga when they lost 2-0 against AC Wolfsberger.

Still in the Bundesliga, midfielder David Atanga lost his place in Red Bull Salzburg first team squad when they won 2-0 against visiting Altach.

CYPRUS

Mustapha Quanyor and Ulyss Udong were in the Ermis team that lost 2-1 at Doxa. Chris Dickson was not in the Ermis squad for the game.

Carlos Ohene played 53 minutes for AEL Limassol in their 2-1 win over Nea Salamis.

Razak Nuhu was sent off in the second-half while in action for Anothorsis Famagusta when they lost 2-1 against visiting APOEL Nicossia.

CZECH REPUBLIC

Dutch-born forward Kevin Luckassen was Slovan Liberec bench when they won 3-2 against guest Jablonec. Former Liberty Professionals midfielder Isaac Sackey was not in the Liberec squad for the game.

PORTUGAL

Ghana youth forward Osei Barnes warmed the bench for Pacos Ferreira who lost 3-1 against Benfica.

Workaholic midfielder Alhassan Wakaso played the full 90 minutes for Rio Ave and helped them defeat Academica Coimbra 2-0. Defender Richard Ofori was not in the Academica squad for the game.

Ghanaian trio of Caleb Gominah, Ernest Ohemeng and Emmanuel Boateng were all in the Moreirense team that lost 3-2 at FC Porto. Gominah and Boateng were involved but Ohemeng was unused.

In the second-tier league, winger Ishmael Yartey was unused by Gil Vicente who won 3-2 against Benfica B.

Former Inter Milan Primavera player Said Ahmed Said played 79 minutes for Olhanense who won 2-1 at Oliveirense on Sunday.

Elsewhere Emmanuel Oti played 71 minutes for Braga B when they won 2-1 at Feirense.

SCOTLAND

Midfielder Prince Buaben lasted 76 minutes for ten-man Hearts who suffered a 2-1 loss at Dundee United.

SOUTH AFRICA

Defender Lawrence Lartey was sent off while in action for Ajax Cape Town in their 4-1 win over Polokwane.

Edwin Gyimah was booked in the 73rd minute and played the entire match for Orlando Pirates who won 3-1 at Black Aces.

OTHERS

Midfielder Daniel Nii Adjei scored both goals for TP Mazembe as they won the CAF Super Cup after beating Tunisian side Etoile du Sahel 2-1.

SWEDEN

Kingsley Sarfo scored the consolation goal for Sirius when they lost 2-1 against Malmo FF in the Swedish Cup. Enock Adu Kofi was not in the Malmo squad for the game.

Mohammed Abubakari started the game for BK Hacken in their 0-0 draw with Brommapojkarna. Nasiru Mohammed sat on the Hacken bench but Baba Mensah could not make the squad for the game.

Midfielder Thomas Boakye played for Varberg in their 2-1 loss at AIK Solna.

GREECE

Michael Essien was an unused substitute by Panathinaikos who were held to a 2-2 draw by PAOK Saloniki.

SWITZERLAND

Ebenezer Assifuah played 73 minutes for FC Sion who were mauled 3-0 by Grasshoppers.

SAUDI ARABIA

Midfielder Sulley Muntari played the entire game for Al Ittihad when they drew 1-1 with Al Quadisiya.
