Performances of Ghanaian players abroad

ENGLAND

Emmanuel Frimpong watched from the bench as Arsenal shocked Chelsea 5-3 at Stamford Bridge.

In the Npower Championship, Ghana's Albert Adomah scored a 14th minute opener for Bristol City who won only their second game of the 14 week old championship beating Barnsley 2-1.

Elsewhere at the Vicarage Stadium, Prince Buaben broke into the Watford starting line up and won a penalty on 31 minutes which Marvin Sordwell converted. Buaben played 90 minutes.

Birmingham were held to a frustrating goalless draw as their four-match winning league run came to an end against Brighton.

Defender John Pantsil continued his bench warming exercise for Leicester City over the weekend. He sat on the bench in their 3-2 defeat at West Ham United.

Lloyd Sam was brought on after 78 minutes when his Leeds United shared the spoils with Cardiff City in a 1-1 draw at the Elland Road Stadium.

FRANCE

Defender Jerry Vandam scored an 82nd minute consolation goal for Caen who recorded their second straight defeat in the Ligue 1 by losing 4-2 at PSG. The 22-year-old French-born Ghanaian is on loan from champions Lille.

Evian Thonon Gaillard defeated Auxerre 3-1 to move further away from the relegation zone. Influential young midfielder Rabiu Mohammed was unused by Evian. Defender Jonathan Mensah is injured.

Olympique Marseille needed an Alou Diarra 82nd minute home to win 3-2 at Dijon. Brothers Andre and Jordan Ayew both started the match for Marseille. Andre played 90 minutes but Jordan was replaced by Gignac after 78 minutes.

In the Ligue 2, Moussa Narry was used as a full-back and played 90 minutes in Le Mans 1-0 win over Boulogne.

Chateauroux stretched AS Monaco's winless run to six games after beating them 2-1 at home. Defender Dennis Appiah lasted the entire match for Monaco.

Third-placed Bastia condemned Arles Avignon to a 3-0 defeat at the Stade Armand Césari. Speedster Haminu Dramani played 68 minutes before being substituted by Anthony Guise.

ITALY

There was double agony for Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng who was shown a straight red card in AC Milan's 3-2 win at AS Roma. Boateng also sustained an injury.

Udinese recovered from the midweek's defeat at Napoli to beat Palermo 1-0 at the Stadio Friuli.

Kwadwo Asamoah played 90 minutes but Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu was introduced on 67th minute to replace Antonio Floro Flores. Ghana junior international Afriyie Acquah warmed the bench for Palermo.

Sulley Muntari continued his spell out of the Inter Milan 18-man squad for game as he watched from the stands in their 2-1 at the Giuseppe Meazza to Juventus.

In the Serie B, Ghana junior international striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom's 13th minute strike was enough to help Sassuolo win 1-0 over Grosseto. The Genoa loanee was replaced after 72 minute but compatriot Isaac Cofie played full throttle. Yaw Asante was not the Grosseto 18-man squad.

In the Primavera League, Godfred Adolf made a full return from injury to play 80 minutes in Parma's 2-2 draw at Cagliari. Defender Bright Addae also played 90 minutes.

Daniel Kofi Agyei captained Fiorentina to beat Grosseto 1-0. Defender Nii Nortey Ashong and striker Amidu Salifu both played 90 minutes for Fiorentina.

Defender Isaac Donkor played the entire match for Inter Milan in their 2-0 victory over Cesena.

GERMANY

Schalke 04 moved to second place at the expense of TSG Hoffenheim after beating the 3-1. Ghana center-back Isaac Vorsah was at the thick of affairs for Hoffenheim but Hans Adu-Sarpei missed out of the Schalke 18-man squad.

In the Bundesliga II, St Pauli continued their siege up the table with a 2-0 win over Union Berlin. Charles Takyi who recently completed his Ghanaian nationality switch sat on the Pauli bench.

Mohammed Lartey lasted the entire regulation time for Hansa Rostock in their 1-1 draw with Energie Cottbus.

In the Liga 3, mid-table sides Preußen Münster and Wacker Burghausen battled to a goalless at the Preußenstadion. Jurgen Duah was introduced on the 46th minute by Preußen Münster.

Both Marcel Appiah and Eric Agyemang did not make the trip with Arminia Bielefeld who drew 1-1 with Chemnitzer FC.

Rot-Weiß Erfurt moved to 11th place after beating FC Heidenheim 1-0. Phil Ofosu-Aryeh was brought on after 72 minutes for Rot-Weiß Erfurt.

SPAIN

Ghana youth winger Wakaso Mubarak sat on the bench for Villarreal who eased past new boys Rayo Vallecano 2-0.

Jeffery Sarpong failed to make the grades for the 18-man squad that suffered a 1-0 reverse at home to Real Madrid.

NETHERLANDS

Ghana midfielder Anthony Annan maintained his place in midfield for Vitesse Arnhem who booked a 1-0 win over Graafschap. Stanley Aborah Junior returned from suspension to play 8 minutes for Vitesse.

Nana Akwasi Asare was cautioned on the 23rd minute and played 90 minutes for FC Utrecht who slipped to a 3-1 defeat at Nijmegen.

Alfred Maher scored an 89th minute goal to help AZ Alkmaar beat Heracles Almelo 1-0. Box-to-box midfielder Kwame Quansah was in full time action for Heracles.

In the second-tier league, former Ghana U17 striker Kelvin Bossman played 13 minutes for Helmond Sport in their 3-0 thrashing of Telstar.

Youngster Jonathan Opoku scored on 89 minutes to earn a 2-2 draw for Veendam at Dordrecht.

Mitch Appau was replaced after 62 minutes. Kevin Tano sat on the bench for Dordrecht.

BELGIUM

Youngster Marvin Ofori-Appiah broke into the Genk first team squad on Saturday when they comprehensively beat Club Brugge 5-4. The 17-year-old striker sat on the bench.

Elsewhere, OH Leuven managed a 3-2 win over Germinal Beerschot. Striker Patrick Amoah sat on the Leuven bench.

KV Mechelen ended their four-game winless run with a 1-0win over Westerlo. Abdul Yakeen Iddi and William Owusu-Acheampong both played the full 90 minutes for KV Mechelen and Westerlo respectively.

FINLAND

Desmond Agyeman watched the match from the stands as his Jaro FC lost 4-1 MYPA.

AUSTRIA

Youngster Felix Agyei lost his place in the Red Bull Salzburg 18-man squad as they drew 1-1 with Ried on Saturday.

EGYPT

Striker Ernest Papa Arko played the full 90 minutes for El Geish who lost 2-1 at Bani Suweif.

Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Francis Akwaffo Boateng and Samuel Kyere both played in Al Ittihad's 2-0 home reverse to Al Ahly.

Burly forward Kwabena Yaro played 46 minutes for ten-man El Entag El Harby in their 3-1 loss at giants Zamalek. Former Hearts of Oak captain Karim Alhassan did not play for Zamalek.

Samuel Owusu lasted 80 minutes for Ghazl El Mehalla in their 1-0 reverse at Haras El Hodood.

GREECE

Atromitos moved to the summit of the table beating Panionios 2-1. Ghana midfielder Bernard Yao Kumordzi played 90 minutes for Panionios.

Left-back David Addy was booked on the 64th minute and played 90 minutes for Panaitolikos who defeated Xanthi 2-0.

SCOTLAND

Hibernian surprisingly held giants Celtic to a 0-0 at the Celtic Park in Glasgow. Striker Manuel Agogo played 78 minutes for Hibernian.

SERBIA

Francis Bossman featured 90 minutes for Sloboda in their 1-1 draw with Red Star Belgrade.

UKRAINE

Samuel Inkoom was sent off on the 62nd minute for a second bookable offends in Dnipro FC's 2-0 triumph over Karpaty. Derek Boateng was also in action for Dnipro.

Former Ghana U20 defender Daniel Addo played the entire match for ten-man FC Zorya who lost 2-0 to Volyn Lutsk.

Winger Abeiku Quansah was a second half substitute for Arsenal Kiev in their 2-0 win over visiting Kryvbas Krivoy Rog.

TURKEY

Bursaspor and Manisaspor battled to a 0-0 draw at the Bursa Stadium. Striker Prince Tagoe failed to find the net and was replaced on the 65th minute. Defender Jerry Akaminko was also replaced after 61 minutes.

In the Liga 1, Karsiyaka defeated Kartalspor 2-0 to lift themselves out of the foot of the table. Striker Dominic Adiyiah has still not scored for Karsiyaka. He played 90 minutes.

Bismark Idan lost his place in the Goztepe first team squad when they lost 4-3 at Adanaspor.

Dribbling wizard Torric Jibril converted a 63rd minute penalty in Bucaspor's 5-1 drubbing of Gungoren Belediyespor.

SWITZERLAND

Impressive winger Ishmael Yartey levelled the scoring for FC Servette before setting up the winner in their 2-1 victory over Xamax.

UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

Striker Asamoah Gyan scored two goals within four minutes to help Al Ain beat Dubai Club 2-1.

PORTUGAL

Christian Atsu Twasam was replaced in added time when 10-man Rio Ave lost 2-1 at Vitoria Guimaraes.

Alhassan Wakaso played in Portimonense's 0-0 draw at home with Arouca.

POLAND

In the Polish Ekstraklasa, striker Fred Benson played 75 minutes in Lechia Gdansk's 1-0 loss at Siask Wroclaw.

ROMANIA

Former Tema Youth winger Richard Annang conspicuously missed out of Vaslui's first team squad when they cruised to a 4-0 win over Targu Mures.

DENMARK

Nordsjælland remained in second place despite losing 1-0 at home to relegation threatened Lyngby. Enock Adu Kofi played in central midfield for Nordsjælland.

NORWAY

Rosenborg BK suffered their heaviest defeat of the season with a 6-3 loss at Brann. Former Red Star Belgrade player Awal Issah Mohammed played the entire match for Brann.

Ghana trio Adam Kwarasey, Mohammed Abu and Abdul Razak Nuhu all started in Stromsgodset's 2-2 draw at Molde.

Former Fulham youngster King Osei Gyan did not feature for Viking who drew 1-1 Sarpsborg.

Winger Ernest Asante came off the bench to play 19 minutes in IK Start's 3-1 home loss to Odd Grenland. Former Ghana U17 captain Paul Addo sat on the Odd Grenland bench.
