Mattia Perin reveals Max Allegri ‘asked me to stay’ at Juventus this summer as he starts today against Sampdoria.

This is Perin’s first Juventus appearance in 897 days, as Wojciech Szczesny remains the undisputed first choice in Turin.
“Competing for a place at Juventus is everyone’s dream,” Perin told Sky Sport Italia.
“Allegri called me over the summer and asked me to stay, so I decided to remain at this great club.”
Perin spent most of his career at Genoa, so today’s match against Sampdoria has the feeling of a Derby della Lanterna.
“It cannot be a game like the others, but I try to remain concentrated on the present, an important game to climb back up the table.”
