Striker Eric Bekoe has been released by Petroject  to pave way for his return to local giants  Asante Kotoko.

The Egyptian side were unwilling to clear him to play for the Ghanaian champions after a three-year stay injury induced career at the club.

Bekoe’s time with Petroject was plagued with recurrent injuries and that prompted the decision of the club to cancel his contract after holding talks with the player on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old is now set to complete his move to the Kumasi-based side and says he is thrilled at the turn of event.

“It means a lot to me because after making the waves here I wanted a new challenge and this is something I have always been waiting for,"  Bekoe told Joy Sports

”I’m a happy man and the thing fell on the exact day I was born (Tuesday). This is a turning point in my career”.

The former Heart of Lions hitman won the Ghana Goal King Award in 2009 with 17 goals for Kotoko.
