Ghana winger Solomon Asante has been named in USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 2 following his swashbuckling display for Phoenix Rising against New Mexico.
The diminutive attacker continued his strong start to the new campaign as he converted twice from the penalty spot and recorded five key passes in Rising FC’s 3-3 stalemate with New Mexico over the weekend.
Asante also completed 27 of 33 passes overall in Rising FC’s 3-3 draw with New Mexico.
He scored 13 goals in 32 games for the Arizona-based outfit in his maiden campaign last year.
