Afriyie Acquah's mother Ama Konadu was inside the Stadio Carlo Castellani as the Empoli midfielder scored his first league goal for the Serie A club.
Acquah doubled Empoli's lead in the 37th minute by finishing off a nice move in their 3-0 win over Sassuolo to boost their survival campaign.
Also at the venue was his agent Oliver Arthur and kid brother Kobby nicknamed Ember, also a budding footballer.
Acquah was making his 18th league appearance.
