PHOTOS: Black Stars hold first training in Cape Coast

The senior national team, the Black Stars held their first training on Tuesday evening ahead of the AFCON qualifier against Sudan on Thursday. 

The team arrived in Cape Coast on Tuesday and immediately were engaged in their first training as preparations continue for the crucial game.

Sixteen players traveled together with the technical team and management of the Black Stars to Cape Coast yesterday with the rest of the players expected to arrive today.

Ghana will host the North Africans in Cape Coast, with the game confirmed to be played behind closed doors on Thursday.

The team has undergone the mandatory Covid-19 tests which is part of protocols to be observed before the encounter.

Six players arrived in camp on Monday night, increasing the number of players to sixteenThey include Chelsea defender Baba Abdul Rahman, France-based duo Alexander Djiku and John Boye as well as Caleb Ekuban of Trabzonspor. Kotoko right back Christopher Nettey and goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi complete the list.

Goalkeeper Richard Ofori could join the team on Wednesday afternoon for the match-day three clash.
