Ghana captain Andre Ayew was joined by nine other players on the first day of training as the Black Stars prepare for the AFCON qualifiers against Sudan on Thursday.

The players include returnee Afriyie Acquah, Saudi based Samuel Owusu, Crystal Palace ace Jordan Ayew, Tarique Fosu of Brentford, John Antwi and Ashantigold defender Kwadwo Amoako. Razak Abalora, Nicholas Opoku and Emmanuel Lomotey complete the list.

Other players will be expected to arrive this evening with the rest on Tuesday.

The team is currently training at the La McDan Park.

The Black Stars, who sit top of group C, will host Sudan in Ghana for the first leg before the second leg is played five days later in Omdurman.

Coach of the Black Stars C. K Akonnor made seven additions to his squad ahead of Ghana’s double header against Sudan following reports of injuries and some clubs feeling reluctant to release players.

The players include Andrew Kyere Yiadom (Reading FC), Majeed Ashimeru (Red Bull Salzburg), Joseph Attamah Larweh (Keyserispor), Afriyie Acquah (Yeni Malatyaspor) and Clifford Aboagye (Tijuana FC).

Thomas Partey remains a doubt after picking up a knock over the weekend in Arsenal's 3-0 defeat to Aston Villa.
