WAFA SC made a flying start to their season with a huge 2-0 win over giants Asante Kotoko on Saturday in the league opener.

The Academy Boys scored a goal in either half to secure that convincing win at the WAFA Stadium in Sogakope.

Charles Boateng opened the scoring with a header in the 41st minute minute.

Three minutes after the break, Samuel Tetteh slotted in the doubler with a fine finish.

But Kotoko suffered two injuries before half time with goalkeeper Felix Annan and defender Tuffour Frimpong being replaced.

Kotoko had chances to draw level or even reduce the deficit but squandered their chances.
