Pressure is mounting on the Ashanti Regional police to arrest a pocket of Asante Kotoko fans who were captured on camera brutally assaulting a journalist who commented on their controversial penalty against Dreams FC.

The calls for arrest of fans who are clearly captured rampaging on the journalist who suggested the penalty awarded in the 87th minute was dubious.

The local journalist popularly known as Gomez received scores of punches from the tirading home fans.

Police in Kumasi are being urged to effect the arrest of the perpetrators of the monstrous attacks which football frowns on.

The Ghanaian police have over the years failed to bring supporters who indulge in stadium violence to book.

Footballers, match officials and fans have suffered various degrees of injuries whilst involved in football activity in Ghana but no offender has been formally brought to book.

Dreams FC have themselves taken referee Nathan Anaafo to the cleaners for his 'shambolic' performance in the Baba Yara Stadium clash.

Kotoko failed to break down the resolute Dreams FC defence until a theatrical act inside the box won them a penalty which was converted by skipper Amos Frimpong.

The win was Kotoko's first in six (6) league games.
