Pioli: Galatasaray match decisive for Lazio

Published on: 25 February 2016

Lazio coach Stefano Pioli has labelled his side’s Europa League match up against Galatasaray as season defining, and has stressed the importance of remaining in the competition.

The Aquile hold an away goal advantage after a 1-1 draw in Istanbul during the first leg, though Pioli isn’t in favour of sitting back for the win.

“This game will define our entire season,” the tactician said, during his pre-match press conference.

“We are heavily focused on Europe, we want to go through and advance as far as possible.

“The first leg gives us as small advantage, but everything is still up for grabs.

“We have to go in to the match with the will to win, this is the best way. Of course we will take the result of the first leg into consideration, but we need to figure out how remain grounded and deal with Galatasaray.”

Both defenders Stefan Radu and Milan Bisevac could feature for Pioli’s side, though the coach is unwilling to give anything away prior to kick off.

“Radu and Bisevac have done well in training,” he continued. “They might be available this evening.

“I will assess everything until the last minute.”
