Pioli: Lazio have to run hard against Frosinone

Published on: 21 February 2016

Lazio coach Stefano Pioli expects his players to work hard when they take on Frosinone at the Stadio Matusa on Sunday afternoon.

The Biancocelesti are back in action following a 1-1 draw away at Galatasaray on Thursday evening and their opponents have the opportunity to go level on points with Sampdoria in 17th place with a win.

“The squad is in good health, it’s improving but we are still a long way away from our objectives and we will have to run hard,” said Pioli to reporters.

“I will play a competitive team and it will be a difficult and important match, we need to make up ground.

“We need to make a notable recovery and recover a lot of points. It might not just be down to us but we can’t make missteps and there is no doubt that Frosinone will do everything to put us in difficulty.”

The capital club’s coach went on to discuss the atmosphere at Lazio further.

“The desire is to show that we are worth more than what we have showed so far,” Pioli added.

“Expectations are higher this season than they were last season.

“We all work for an important club and it’s normal to be under pressure.

“The season isn’t over however and we can recover.”
