PL/15:00 Games Fulltime-Time Scores

Published on: 23 April 2016

AFC Bournemouth 1 – 4 Chelsea

Goals:  Pedro 5', E. Hazard 34', 90+1, T. Elphick 36'

The visitors took the lead early on through Pedro, before Hazard’s first league goal of the season doubled their advantage shortly after the half-hour mark. However, that two-goal lead lasted just 92 seconds, as Elphick headed home from a fantastic cross by Francis to haul Howe’s side back into the game. However, Chelsea were dominant in the second half thanks to Cesc Fabregas who played well (assisting in 3 of the 4 Chelsea goals), the Blues piled on the pressure as the Cherries crumbled. Bournemouth suffer their first third straight league defeat since 2013.

Aston Villa 2 – 4 Southampton

Goals: S. Long 15', D. Tadic 39’, 71’, A. Westwood 45'+, 85’, S. Mané 90'+

A goalscoring frenzy at Villa Park as Southampton romp their way to a 4-2 win. The already relegated Aston Villa however still had some fight left in them in the shape of Ashley Westwood who scored a sweet double.  Villa won't be too disheartened, however. Eric Black will pleased with the commitment shown by his men.

Liverpool 2 – 2 Newcastle United

Goals: D. Sturridge 2', A. Lallana 30', P. Cissé 48', J. Colback 66'

Daniel Sturridge opened the scoring after just over 60 seconds and the Reds didn't look back, adding another through Adam Lallana as they appeared on course for a fourth successive league victory, however Newcastle had something to say about that. Newcastle, who looked quite tame in the first 45 minutes frustrated Liverpool with a two goal comeback in the second half. Cissé’s goal rallied the Magpies who seemed content with a 2-2 draw, late in the game Liverpool piled on the pressure but to no avail.
