PL: MANCHESTER UNITED 3-0 BOURNEMOUTH: FT, United secure Europa league football

Published on: 17 May 2016

Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney scored his 100th goal at Old Trafford in an empathetic 3-0 win against Bournemouth in their last game of the Premier League thisseason. The win cements United's spot at 5th in the table and therefore, Europa League football.

If they win the FA Cup this weekend 7th place West Ham will also be given a place in the Europa League.

For any neutrals watching the first half was tedious. Four players stood out in the half: Martial, Mata, Rashford and Rooney. However, United began to click towards the last 5 minutes of the half, and the second half saw some good attacking play from the Red Devils.

In the 74th minute a lofted pass from Rooney was fell at Valencia's feet who tapped the ball to youngster Marcus Rashford's who proceeded to fire in a goal past  Federici.

In the 87th minute Ashley Young confirmed United's win by connecting with another great pass from Rooney to fire the shot home.

However, Bournemouth gained a consolation after a poor game. In the 93rd minute England defender Chris Smalling accidentally turns Gradel's shot beyond De Gea scoring an own goal.
