Platinum Stars coach promises to drill Ghana

Platinum Stars coach Owen Da Gama believes they can hold their own against Ghana when the two sides clash in the final pre-AFCON friendly on Wednesday.

The fixture between the South African side and the Black Stars at Rustenburg will be the last run for the West African giants ahead of start of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

The Black Stars were held by a third string Bafana Bafana side on Sunday in their opening friendly.

The boss of the ABSA Premiership side insists they will prove a difficult side for the Goran Stevanovic's charges.

He told Accra-based Peace FM: "Or team is quite fine and it is a game that we’re looking forward to." Dagama

"I am big fan of Ghana and after South Africa, it the second country that lies in my heart because of the quality of football they have exhibited over the past few years.

"We have absolute respect for them but we hope to hold our own against the Black Stars in the friendly.

"We’ll surely give it a goal."

The Black Stars will leave for Gabon on Friday to brush up preparations ahead of their Group D opener against Botswana on Tuesday 24 January in Franceville.
