Lazio’s European ambitions suffered a serious blow as they were held to a 1-1 draw by AC Milan at the Stadio San Siro on Sunday evening.
The Biancocelesti took the lead through a Marco Parolo header but Carlos Bacca restored parity minutes later before Senad Lulic was dismissed with seven minutes remaining.

AC Milan
Gianluigi Donnarumma – 7 – Reliable
Had relatively little to contend with but spared his side’s blushes when Felipe Anderson darted through with a fine stop to his left.
Ignazio Abate – 6.5 – Decent
Tamed Anderson for the opening 45 minutes but was guilty of switching off during spells in the second half.
Cristian Zapata – 6 – Steady
Tough in the challenge and provided Alessandro Matri with very little, but was a cause for concern when Stefano Pioli’s side began to interchange.
Alessio Romagnoli – 6 – Quiet
Dealt with the presence of Matri fairly comfortably and was vigilant when crosses were lobbed into the area.
Luca Antonelli – 5.5 – Alarming
A rare shaky display from the Italian and was given the run around by Candreva during the opening period. Allowed Parolo to break free for the opener inside the box.
Keisuke Honda – 6.5 – Accurate
Delivered a few unerring crosses into the danger area that Bonaventura ought to have converted, but was uncharacteristically futile in open play.
Riccardo Montolivo – 6 – Assured
Much like his midfield partner, was overran in the first-half but his directness into the front duo helped Milan carve out a few promising opportunities.
Andrea Bertolacci – 6 – Wasteful
Often caught up the pitch as Lazio countered to great effect during the first period but settled into a rhythm after the interval.
Giacomo Bonaventura – 7.5 – Prominent
Rattled the crossbar with a free-kick in the first-half and his influence grew after the interval. Ought to have netted if it wasn’t for Federico Marchetti’s brilliance.
Carlos Bacca – 7 – Decisive
Netted the decisive leveller for his side with a supreme curling finish. Dovetailed nicely with Luiz Adriano but opportunities were fairly rare for the Colombian.
Luiz Adriano – 7.5 – Integral
Has been thrust into the limelight after M’Baye Niang’s absence but was integral to the Rossoneri’s attacking play. Excellent hold-up play and teed up Bacca for the game’s equaliser.
Substitutions
Mario Balotelli – 6.5 – Bright
Linked well with Bacca to fashion a real chance for the Rossoneri upon his introduction.
