AC Milan returned to winning ways with a 2-0 win at home against Fiorentina at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Sunday evening.
A fourth minute strike for Carlos Bacca set the Rossoneri on their way before an 88th minute strike from the newly returned Kevin-Prince Boateng ensured a much needed three points, while Fiorentina dropped further behind in the Scudetto race.

Gianluigi Donnarumma â 6 â Solid
Barely touched the ball with no shots on goal in the first half. Had a bit more to do in the second half but was solid when called upon.
Ignazio Abate â 6 â Worker
Provided a great work rate to lead Milan in interceptions and clearances while linking well to Keisuke Honda on the right wing. Worked hard to try and limit Marcos Alonso, the main source of Fiorentina’s attack.
Alex â 6.5 â Strong
Helped ensure Nikola Kalinic had very little opportunities, forming a strong combination with his young defensive partner.
Alessio Romagnoli â 6 â Matured
A much more matured performance for the centre-back with a strong defensive display free from any significant errors.
Luca Antonelli â 7 â Rock
Arguably the best on pitch, making a number of key blocks in defence and allowing Federico Bernadeschi very little room to move down the right-wing.
Keisuke Honda â 6 â Tried
Worked hard, particularly in the first half, covering a lot of ground both in attack and defense. Was largely unable to make a significant impact in attack other than a 75th minute strike which sailed just over the bar.
Riccardo Montolivo â 6 â Improved
Despite being largely starved for possession, provided strong pressure in defence, limiting Viola’s attacking space.
Andrea Bertolacci â 5.5 â Scratchy
Not one of his best performances, guilty of a number of dispossessions with the ball though provided decent defensive cover.
Giacomo Bonaventura â 7 â Important
Unsurprisingly, Milan’s best in creating opportunities, providing the fantastic ball for Bacca’s 4th minute goal. Worked hard with the left wing proving to be Milan’s major source of attacking play while also providing defensive cover when required.
Carlos Bacca â 7 â X-factor
In spite of Milan’s limited chances, Bacca proved to be the difference with his wonderful goal in the first five minutes. Troubled Tomovic at the back whenever he found any space.
M’Baye Niang â 5.5 â Uninspiring
Unable to make any significant contributions with the limited opportunities provided, vastly overshadowed by his Bacca upfront.
Substitutions
Juraj Kucka (70 mins) â 6.5 â Energised
Provided immediate energy in the midfield and provided a fantastic long-ball to Kevin-Prince Boateng for Milan’s second.
Kevin-Prince Boateng (79mins) â 6.5 â Potent
Provided a great first touch off a Kucka long ball to beat Tatarusanu and finish the game off.
Mario Balotelli (86 mins)- N/A
