The Ayew brothers expressed heroics on Saturday afternoon in the English Premier League by scoring against each other at the Villa Park. Jordan, who had come under intensified pressure silenced his critics with the opening goal before Andre stole the points for the Swans.

Sulley Muniru gave another signal that he is the real protege destined for a greater future by scoring a patent range effort in Romania while Ebenezer Assifuah's inspirational performance for FC Sion was perpetuated with a strike in their Swiss Super League win on Sunday.

GHANAsoccernet.com's El Akyereko Frimpong picks his Team of the Week after monitoring how Ghanaian players fared abroad over the weekend.

GOALKEEPER - LAWRENCE ATI-ZIGI, LIEFERING

The 18-year-old put up a world class display despite Liefering's 1-0 loss at Neustadt. For a second week on a row, the Ghana youth goalkeeper has held down the spot as the custodian. In Friday's game in the Austrian second-tier league, Ati produced a string of wonderful saves including an application of feline agility to stop a thunderous drive and saving a penalty. He became the first Ghanaian goalkeeper abroad to save a penalty this season.

LEFT-BACK - HARRISON AFFUL, COLUMBUS CREW

When Columbus Crew consigned DC United to a heavy 5-0 defeat on the final day of the regular season, the pint-size versatile lateral defender was in great shape. Afful patrolled the backline with the diligence of an eagle and ensured United stood no chance causing a havoc at the Crew defence.

CENTER-BACK - JOSEPH BAFFO, EINTRACHT BRAUNSCHWEIG

A towering and strong pillar at the back for the former Bundesliga campaigners. The Sweden U21 international demonstrated why he could be of great importance to the Black Stars. He defended gallantly to ensure Braunschweig recovered from last weekend's loss to book a victory over Freiburg.

CENTER-BACK - JOSEPH ATTAMAH, ADANA DEMIRSPOR

In a fiercely contested local derby between Adana Demirspor and Adanaspor AS, the host needed the form of the former Ghana U20 and Tema youth defender to calm down the storm at the back. His presence in defender was a broader limitation on the attacking arm of the visitors. Great show.

RIGHT-BACK - PHILEMON OFOSU AYEH, EINTRACHT BRAUNSCHWEIG

The recently capped Black Stars player played cohesively at the back of Baffo, using his strong physical presence and abilities on the pitch to stop Freiburg and handled their attacking threats with sheer competence and understanding of his job as a lateral defender. He stood out on the pitch.

MIDFIELDER - GODFRED DONSAH, BOLOGNA

The former Premier League target returned to the Bologna line-up and put up an eye-catching performance in central midfield, precociously dominating the space and bring comfort to the Bologna midfield as they claimed a 2-1 against new-boys Carpi.

MIDFIELDER - EMMANUEL AGYEMANG-BADU, UDINESE

Badu put up a splendid show for Udinese, excelling in midfield as they bagged a vital win against Frosinone. He lasted the entire minutes of the game at the Stadio Communale Fruili. He came close to scoring in the 37th minute but his effort was cleared off the line.

MIDFIELDER - SULLEY MUNIRU, STEAUA BUCURESTI

The younger brother of Sulley Muntari scored to snatch a point for Steaua from the jaws of defeat before home fans. His effort was a perfect trademark of his long range abilities. His goal was his 5th in all competitions this season.

ATTACKER - ANDRE AYEW, SWANSEA CITY

Andre showed class to win the family battle by scoring the winner at the Villa Park. He raced quickly to stab home a low cross inside the six yard box. His goal was an atonement for his earlier miss which was supposed to put Swansea into the lead. Five goals in 10 games, an average of 0.5 goal in a game for a winger. Wasn't a bad weekend for the deputy Ghana captain.

FORWARD - JORDAN AYEW, ASTON VILLA

The 23-year-old had a better way to shut down the mouths of his critics by scoring in a highly fancied game. From the cross of Gabby Agbonllahor, the former Marseille man dived to head home his first Premier League but his goal could not prevent manager Tim Sherwood from getting the axe.

FORWARD - EBENEZER ASSIFUAH, FC SION

Fired Sion into the lead with a powerful effort in the 39th minute as they recovered from their bad string of results to beat a nine Grasshoppers side 3-2. The 2013 FIFA U20 World Cup Golden Shoe Award winner was still in his Liverpool scoring performance as he was involved in the sequence of play that resulted in the second goal. Great show!
