The Akropong Police Division have assured fans of maximum security when Dreams FC host Asante Kotoko in the Premier League on Wednesday in Dawu.

This assurance was given when officials of Dreams FC engaged the Police over security arrangement for next week’s clash at the ‘Theatre of Dreams’.

The Operations Officer of the Akropong Divisional Police, DSP Godson Danquah, who was also at the meeting disclosed at least 50 personnel are being drawn from Aburi, Mampong, Adukrom, Larteh and Akropong for the game.

Dreams FC, currently third on the league log, are going into the game against the former Ghanaian champions on the back of an impressive win over AshantiGold in Obuasi while Asante Kotoko are emerging from a season-saving victory over Liberty Professionals.

The situation has seen an immense rise in interest in next week’s clash with an expected capacity-filled stadium in Dawu.

This prospect has made it necessary for the implementation of an effective security plan to deal with the massive crowd expected to turn up in Dawu.

Administrative Manager of Dreams FC, Ameenu Shardow, who represented management at the meeting on Thursday, says the initial arrangement made by the police so far is satisfactory.

“The signals we’ve picked so far suggests we will be having a huge turnout at the Dawu Park for this game thus the need for a very effective security arrangement,” he told www.dreamsfc.com.

“This is what has brought us here today and I must say we are very content with the initial arrangements made so far.

“It is important that we put in place a very effective plan and our meeting here has been very revealing and will inform some vital decisions management will be making including ticket prices for the game.

“For us, the safety of every individual and property is the priority and that will be the overriding factor in every decision we make with regards to this game.

“The fans should therefore be rest assured that we have their best interest at heart as they come here to enjoy, entertain themselves and of course support the side towards a historic win over Kotoko on Wednesday.”

The Akropong Police will cordon off some routes leading to the Dawu Park as part of security measures.

Dreams Football Club will be communicating in details the security arrangement for the game against Asante Kotoko once all discussions are firmed up.
