The Police are in search of a man impersonating former Hearts of Oak midfielder Uriah Asante on social media to dupe people.

The young man believed to be in his mid-20s has been sending messages to friends of the Bahrain-based player demanding monies.

GHANASoccernet.com understands the gentleman was first arrested last year but no charges were preferred against him.

“This guy is not new to this scam and the police want to end it this time. He has taken monies from many of Uriah’s friends especially on Facebook,” a source close to the player said.

Asante has signed a ten-month contract with Al Riffa.
