Politano’s Napoli move stalls

Matteo Politano’s potential move from Inter to Napoli has hit a road block as the two clubs struggle to come to an agreement over the terms of any transfer.

It was thought that Politano would join the Partenopei by the end of the week despite the 26-year-old holding out hopes that his boyhood club Roma would continue talks with the Nerazzurri over the possibility of bringing him to the capital.

According to a report by La Gazzetta dello Sport, talks between the clubs have now stalled as they struggle to come to an agreement over the inclusion of Fernando Llorente in the deal.

Chelsea’s refusal to allow Olivier Giroud to make his way to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza until his contract ends in June has led to the Nerazzurri pushing for the inclusion of Llorente in any deal as they look to bolster their squad.

The delay once again opens the door for the Giallorossi to renew their pursuit of the winger, which reports suggest would be Politano’s preferred destination.
