Portuguese tactician Mariano Barreto has claimed that reports saying he quit Kotoko are false and should be disregarded.

Barreto who is on holiday in his native country said he will soon return to Ghana to commence pre-season training with the Porcupine Warriors.

“Who said I’m not coming to Ghana again, is it me, the management or the board, People like talking too much, I will soon return to Ghana," said Barreto.

Reports of Barreto and Kotoko severing ties have been rife following the former Black Stars coach's uninspiring debut season.

Barreto's Kotoko were beaten to the Ghana Premier League title by Hearts of Oak and were shocked in the quarter-finals of the MTN FA Cup.

Fans were ready to forgive Barreto because he joined the club in the middle of the season, however, prior to his departure for the holiday he bruised the club's ego.

Barreto disrespected the club with comments such as Kotoko doesn't qualify to be called a big team.
