PREMIER - Brighton squanders all chances, draws with Leeds

Published on: 27 November 2021

Tariq Lamptey continued to create opportunities for Brighton but his teammates were always missing them.

Neal Maupay was the main culprit in Saturday's 0-0 draw at home against Leeds in the English Premier League.

Lamptey returned to action after a nine-month injury layoff, and his pace and delivery made him a constant threat, creating five chances in the first half alone at Amex Stadium.

Maupay squandered two of them, firing wide at the near post and then blasting over from inside the six-yard box with the goal at his mercy. The French striker came off the bench for the first time in three games but limped off after being replaced in the 68th minute.

Leeds didn't pose a danger to Brighton's goal until Tyler Roberts forced two late saves from goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.

Leeds remained in 17th place, one place above the relegation zone, while Brighton remained in eighth place and has yet to win in their past eight league games.
