PREMIER - Rangnick's lawyer confirms contract is being finalised

Ralf Rangnick is set to take over as interim manager of Manchester United, according to his lawyer, who confirmed the deal is being finalized on Friday.

Rangnick's legal representative told AFP subsidiary SID that the deal's final details are still being worked out.

Rangnick, 63, is presently the head of sports and development of Lokomotiv Moscow in Russia.

Following the resignation of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following a poor start to United's Premier League season, the German is set to take over at Old Trafford until the end of the season.

Rangnick is expected to sign a contract until May 2022, after which he would remain as a consultant for Man Utd for two more years, according to German magazine Kicker.

United intends to make a permanent appointment at the end of the season, with Mauricio Pochettino of Paris Saint-Germain being heavily connected with the role.
