PREMIER - Report: Barca reaches agreement with City winger Torres

Published on: 26 November 2021

According to Marca, Barça and Manchester City winger Ferran Torres have struck an agreement on personal matters.

Mateu Alemany, Barcelona's Director of Football, was said to be in Manchester today to finalize the purchase of Raheem Sterling. The Englishman, on the other hand, served as a decoy while Alemany negotiated for Torres.

While two of the three parties involved have reached an agreement, the third – Man City – has yet to do so. The English team is seeking a bigger financial offer from the Catalan giants, which might set off alarm bells in the Camp Nou headquarters.

Torres has spent far too much time on the bench as a result of the addition of Jack Grealish and the excellent form of Phil Foden. He's only appeared in four Premier League games, scoring two goals and assisting on another.

In the short term, a loan deal for the winger who can also play as a center forward could be the answer, but in the long run, Barça will need to focus on buying a real number nine. The Barcelona fans have a lot to look forward to in the coming months.
