Bandar Seri Begawan: Brunei Darussalam will be seeking an early goal when they go up against Mongolia in their FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup 2023 Preliminary Joint Qualification return leg on Tuesday.

Goals from captain Norjmoo Tsedenbal and Naranbold Nyam-Osor gave Mongolia a 2-0 win in Thursday's first leg in Ulaanbaatar but Brunei Darussalam head coach Robbie Servais is confident his team can turn it around at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.

“There is still a chance for us. I’m still optimistic,” said the Dutchman to local media.

In admitting that Mongolia deserved to win the first leg, Servais said Brunei Darussalam will be better prepared for Tuesday's tie, with the winners advancing to the next stage of the Asian Qualifiers.

“It was clear we struggled with the physical football of Mongolia. My players are not used to that kind of physicality.

“However, we also know their weaknesses better so it is still not finished. We have a home game under difficult circumstances for Mongolia," added Servais.

Mongolia, however, will be confident of finishing the job after a dominant performance in the first leg which saw Tsedenbal hit the first goal of a campaign that will end with Asia's top teams qualifying for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar and AFC Asian Cup China 2023.
