Aduana Stars and ASEC Mimosas will be looking to bounce back to winning form when they meet in a 2018 CAF Confederation Cup Group A match at the Agyemang Badu Stadium in Dormaa on Sunday.

Stars come into the match having suffered a 2-0 loss at the hands of AS Vita in their last CAF club game at the back end of July. The DR Congo giants claimed victory in Kinshasa thanks to a brace of goals from Jean-Marc Mundele.

The result left the Ghanaian club in third place on four points from as many matches – they trail leaders Raja Casablanca and second-placed ASV by four and three points respectively. A failure to win at home could well mean elimination from the competition.

ASEC, former champions of Africa, are bottom of the Group A log after picking up just three points, and they have to win this match in Ghana if they are to have any chance of finishing in the top two and advancing into the last eight.

The Ivorian giants will still be stinging from the 4-0 beating they were handed in Morocco by Raja last time out, as braces from Mahmoud Benhalib and Zakaria Hadraf saw the North Africans to a convincing victory and left ASEC in real trouble.

Aduana and ASEC met in the first round of Group A matches back in early May and it was the Ivorian team which claimed a narrow 1-0 home win at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan, thanks to a first-half strike from Ahmed Toure.

Botswana referee Joshua Bondo will take charge of the match in Dormaa. The other Group A game between ASV and Raja will be played in Kinshasa on Sunday, with kick-off at the same time.
