Preview - Group F: Melbourne Victory (AUS) v Daegu FC (KOR)

Melbourne: Melbourne Victory will kick off their 2019 AFC Champions League Group F campaign against Korea Republic’s Daegu FC at Melbourne Rectangular Stadium on Tuesday.

The Australian side were eliminated at the group stage last year but remained unbeaten in Melbourne. Indeed, despite having only reached the last 16 once (in 2016), they have not lost in front of home support since the 2011 group stage.

Currently third in the A-League, Melbourne are on a four-game winless run domestically and go into the match on the back of a 2-0 loss to Newcastle Jets at the weekend.

Daegu, meanwhile, are making their first appearance in the AFC Champions League after defeating Ulsan Hyundai to win the 2018 Korean FA Cup.

The K League 1 side began their domestic season with an impressive 1-1 draw away at the defending champions Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors on Friday.
