Prof Lydia Nkansah Committee approved composition of new Asante Kotoko board- Manhyia

Manhyia Palace says it went ahead to constitute a board of directors for Asante Kotoko based on an initial report by the Professor Lydia Nkansah Investigative Committee who is yet to wrap up its work.

The owner and Life Patron of the club, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, released a names of nine personalities including one female- a physical education specialist, to serve on the new board.

Extracts of the statement signed by Chief of Staff, Kofi Badu, on Thursday, 28 May, 2020 read:

''The appointment of the Board followed an interim report from the Three-Member Panel, Chaired by Professor Lydia Nkansah, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, which is enquiring into recent operations of the Club.

''The Panel gave the green light for the constitution of a new board to bring Asante Kotoko SC in compliance with both the licensing regulations of the Premier League and its statutory obligations under company laws.''

Businessman Kwame Kyei, whose three-year tenure as the club's Executive Chairman expired in December 2019, has been appointed board chairman.

His deputy is Jude Arthur who is the board chairman for Ghana Commercial Bank and previously served in that capacity at the club in 2013.

The rest of the members are Kwadwo Boateng Gyamfi (Board Chairman Ghana EXIM Bank), Kwasi Osei Ofori (Chairman Erdmark Group/ CEO Rocksure Mining Ltd) , Lawyer Kwamina Mensah (Corporate Lawyer)

Others are Alhaji Lamin (Businessman), Joseph Yaw Adu (Retired Director of Sports at Kwame Nkrumah University Science and Technology), Baffour Kwame Kusi (Otumfuo's Ankobeahene) and Evelyn Nsiah Asare (Acting Head of Sports at Sunyani Technical University)
