Former Asante Kotoko coach CK Akonnor has been invited by the Professor Lydia Nkansah investigative committee, according to reports in Kumasi.

Akonnor was sacked in June 2019 after nine months into his three-year contract  where he led them to reach the Group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.

He also guided them to win Normalisation Committee Tier I Special Competition which earned a CAF Champions League slot.

But the Dr. Kwame Kyei-led team decided to terminate his contract.

Akonnor dragged the club to the Ghana Football Association Player Status Committee demanding his 2 years salary, league trophy cash, and CAF Confederation Cup group stage entitlements.

The Professor Nkansah committee has been sitting for the past two weeks and have two more weeks to submit a report to Manhyia.

They have been tasked to probe all the circumstances surrounding the team’s transactions with Tunisian giant Esperance de Tunis.

The committee, with four weeks mandate, are to also help in structuring the Ghana Premier League heavyweight to fit the Club Licensing Board requirements.

According reports Executive Chairman Dr. Kwame Kyei, General Manager Nana Gyambibi Coker, CEO George Amoako have been heard.

Current head coach Maxwell Konadu and captain Felix Annan, former Accra Representative Edmund Ackah and former Operations Manager Ernest Owusu Ansah.
