Qualification at risk as Tottenham lose to Mura

Tottenham Hotspur fell to a shock loss away to Slovenian side NS Mura on Thursday evening in the Europa Conference League, further complicating their task of progressing to the knockout rounds.

Spurs face group winners Rennes in the last game now likely needing to win to stand a chance of going through, while Vitesse - currently level with Spurs on seven points - host Mura.

Antonio Conte made plenty of changes to his XI for the game, but Spurs still fell behind early on as Tomi Horvat put the hosts ahead with just 11 minutes played. Ryan Sessegnon made things worse by being sent off in the 32nd minute.

The Italian had included Spaniard Bryan Gil in his initial XI, but was clearly unimpressed by what he saw from his side. Conte made changes with less than 10 minutes of the second half played, turning to Lucas Moura, Heung-Min Son, Ben Davies, and Eric Dier.

Bryan Gil was one of those taken off, with the Brazilian taking his place on the pitch. But it was captain Harry Kane who levelled in the 72nd minute, only for the Slovenians to go on and net again, bagging a stoppage-time winner.

The win was Mura's first since October 16.
