Ghanaian midfielder Kwame Quansah scored for Dutch side Heracles to help them secure a comfortable 4-1 win over 10-man Excelsior on Saturday.

The victory helped them to move into the middle of the Eredivisie table.

Excelsior was reduced to 10 men just 23 minutes into the match as Daan Bovenberg was sent off, and Heracles took advantage with a goal from Mark Jan Fledderus nine minutes later.

Quansah and Mark Looms each scored in the second half for Heracles before Guyon Fernandez pulled a goal back for the visitors.

Glynor Plet added a goal in stoppage time to cap the scoring, leaving Excelsior seven points from safety.
