Ghana youth midfielder Rabiu Mohammed has signed a five-year contract with newly promoted French Ligue 1 side Evian Thonon Gaillard, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 21-year-old has been rewarded the deal after helping the club to gain promotion as a loanee.

The 2009 Fifa Under-20 World Cup winner completes his move from Italian side Udinese where he never gained first team promotion.

Evian President Patrick Trotignon announced on Monday evening that club has decided to purchase the ball-winner from the Italian side.

"I'm happy this has been done and it comes as a big relief to me. I will now look ahead to the French Ligue 1. I'm extremely happy," the former Liberty Professionals player told GHANAsoccernet.com

Mohammed scored the opener in the Ghana Under-23 team which lost 3-1 to Nigeria last Saturday in an All Africa Games final qualifying round first leg tie.
