Ghana midfielder Rabiu Mohammed played 57 minutes of Evian’s 2-1 win at Lille on Saturday as compatriot Jonathan Mensah watched from the bench.

The Ghana international was replaced moments after the second half commenced by Ivorian Yannick Sagbo.

The 23-year-old has carried his good form to his club from the 2013 Nations Cup where he emerged a revelation from the Black Stars team in South Africa.

Same however cannot be said about his international teammate Jonathan Mensah as he continues to warm the bench at the French club.

The 22-year-old defender is yet to play for Evian since returning from the Nations Cup.

He was omitted from the squad that comprehensively beat Sochaux last weekend despite being passed fit.

He returned for to the team for the away game at Lille but did not come off the bench.

The win by Evian has seen them climb from the relegation zone to 15th in Ligue 1.

Both Ghana players are in the latest Black Stars squad that will face Sudan in a 2014 World Cup qualifier on March 24 in Kumasi.
