Rakitic: It's a clear penalty, the ball changes direction after hitting Militao's arm

Ivan Rakitic made his feelings clear in regard to the penalty that Sevilla were awarded during their 2-2 draw with Real Madrid on Sunday night.

The Croatian converted a spot-kick, which was awarded for a handball by Eder Militao, to give the visitors the lead at Valdebebas.

"From where I was, it was a clear penalty for handball," Rakitic said afterwards.

"We can all say how we interpret the handball law.

"If [the ball] hits the arm and changes direction, it's a handball and a penalty.

"It went our way today but didn't not so long ago.

"If the ball changes direction, it's handball.

"If we're going to go into intention... We've had mistakes go against us in the last two games."

In the end, Eden Hazard's late equaliser keeps Sevilla six points behind leaders Atletico Madrid in LaLiga Santander.

"We have to be honest," Rakitic said when asked about his team's title chances.

"We would've been up there if we'd have won today.

"We have to be proud and honest about what we've down up until now.

"We're going to fight until the end."
