Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos paid tribute to Francesco Totti for they way he conducted himself when the pair met after the game.

The Spanish side beat the Giallorossi 2-0 in Madrid to eliminate the Italian side from the Champions League by a 4-0 aggregate scoreline.

“Totti came into our changing room because he wanted my signed shirt,” said Ramos to reporters.

“I’ve admired him for years, in part for his hair but above all because he’s a great player.

“We swapped shirts and I will certainly put it on display.

“He deserved the standing ovation he received, he has dedicated himself to football for so many years and the Real fans gave him affection as he has been an example for everybody.”

Totti has made a total of 57 Champions League appearances, scoring 17 goals and it remains unclear whether he have the opportunity to build upon those figures.
