Ramsey offers Sarri backing

Published on: 16 July 2019

Juventus summer recruit Aaron Ramsey is confident that new head coach Maurizio Sarri will make a big impact in Turin in the coming months.

Wales midfielder Ramsey has joined Juve on a free transfer after more than a decade with Arsenal and will be under the charge of former Napoli and Chelsea boss Sarri when he begins his Italian adventure.

And Ramsey expects Sarri to be a success, having guided Chelsea to third place in the Premier League and also to Europa League glory in his one season in charge at Stamford Bridge.

Ramsey told the Italian media: "I know from this coach, from his time last year in England, he definitely likes to play football.

"He has his own philosophy and I'm sure all the players here will adapt nicely to that.

"From what I saw last season he had a very good season for Chelsea - he got to two finals and won one of them.

"He got in the (Premier League) top four and that is not easy to do, so it was definitely successful for him there - hopefully he can bring his philosophy and style to this team."

Juventus have dominated Italian football in recent seasons, winning eight consecutive Serie A titles, while also winning four successive Coppa Italias before missing out last season.

They are available at 8/15 to claim Lo Scudetto again next season, while the Bianconeri are 11/8 to win the Coppa Italia.
