Randy Abbey praises Sports Minister Kofi Adams for role in Black Stars’ revival

Black Stars Management Committee Chairman, Dr. Randy Abbey, has commended Ghana’s Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Adams, for his contributions to the national team’s resurgence in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Ghana ended a six-game winless run with a 5-0 thrashing of Chad in Accra last Friday, followed by a 3-0 victory over Madagascar in Morocco on Monday.

The wins have kept the Black Stars top of Group I, three points ahead of second-placed Comoros with four matches remaining.

Speaking to 3Sports, Dr. Abbey credited the team’s upturn in form to meticulous preparation and the minister’s hands-on approach.

“He’s been very, very instrumental. If you know what he went through to ensure that the stadium was ready and all the team’s needs were met… He worked extremely hard, even beyond his ministerial duties, to ensure things went smoothly,” Abbey stated.

The Black Stars’ management, led by Abbey and Vice Chairman Stephen Appiah, has also been highlighted as a key factor in the team’s recent success.
