Dutch side Roda JC Kerkrade have congratulated Kudus Mohammed on his big money move to Ajax, declaring their hopes of seeing the Ghanaian don their jersey in the near future.

Mohammed signed a five-year contract with the capital-based outfit in a deal worth €9 million from Danish side FC Nordsjaelland.

The attacking midfielder passed his mandatory medicals last Thursday before putting pen to paper on a deal to the Dutch Eredivisie where he has been given the number 20 jersey.

A rare picture of the 19-year-old popped up on the internet last week after penning the Ajax contract. He was seen dressed in an old Roda JC shirt alongside two other boys during his formative years at lower-tier side Strongtower FC.

Dutch Eerste Divisie outfit Roda JC Kerkrade have been swift in commenting on the picture, congratulating the younger on joining one of Europe's elite sides, but took the opportunity to express their lofty of wish of seeing the youngster in the club's jersey once again.

Congratulations with your new club @AFCAjax @KudusMohammedGH

We hope you still wear this jersey now and then... ?#kudus #RodaJC @FCNordsjaelland https://t.co/c6JS3se5WD

Mohammed began his career at Strongtower FC before moving to join the famed Right to Dream Academy in 2012.

After progressing from representing Ghana at the 2017 Fifa U17 World Cup in India, the budding midfielder represented Ghana at the 2019 Africa U20 Cup of Nations in Niger where the Black Satellites failed to qualify from the group stage.

In November last year, the attacking midfielder was rewarded with a call-up to Ghana's senior national team for a 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double-header against South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe on the back of a run of fine performance for club side Nordsjaelland.

It was a remarkable debut against South Africa as the Accra-born netted as a second-half substitute to ensure the 2-0 triumph in Cape Coast.

Mohammed made 25 appearances and scored 11 goals for the Wild Tigers in the Danish Super Liga this season.
