12:00- Hello good afternoon and welcome to the live coverage of the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifier clash between the Harambee Stars of Kenya and the Black Stars of Ghana at the MISC Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi.

Kenya will be aiming to pick their first point in the Group F after losing 1-0 to Sierra Leone in the opening fixture of the qualifiers while a victory today for Ghana will stretch their lead on top of the pile following their 5-0 trouncing of Ethiopia last year.

Kenya will go into the match with the loss of Victor Wanyama and some other key players.

Vice-captain David Owino, striker Jesse Were are also out injured, while defender Brian Mandela and winger Ayub Timbe are suspended.

12:15 - Patrick Matasi has been chosen to start as the goalkeeper for this afternoon's encounter against Ghana.

Abud Omar and Philemon Otieno are playing the right and left back roles for the Harambee Stars whilst Joash Onyango and Musa Mohammed partner at the central defence.

Ismael Athuman Gonzalez, Dennis Odhiambo along with Gor Mahia's Francis Kahata and Sweden based Eric Johanna are in the midfield.

Former Girona FC striker Michael Olunga and Ovella Ochieng' will be in attack.

12: 30 - Meanwhile, Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has named Maritzburg United goalkeeper Richard Ofori as his trusted man between the sticks with Reading defender Andy Yiadom playing at right back while Dan Opare will operate at left back.

Skipper on the day Daniel Amartey will operate in central defends with Udinese player Nicholas Opoku.

Afriyie Acquah is starting in midfield with US based Ebenezer Ofori and Christian Atsu as well as Edwin Gyasi.

Thomas Partey will play behind striker Abdul Majeed Waris.

Kwadwo Asamoah who is making a return to the team after four years will start from the bench.

Ghana seem charged to pick three points against their Eastern African opponents.

Zambian referee Janny Sikazwe, who will be assisted on the lines by compatriots – Oliver Gift Mweene and Kabwe Chansa are ready to kick-start the game.

00- Kickoff. Game on.

01- Kenya have started the game brightly as they string their passes together with fun. Daniel Opare nearly cost Ghana there with a poor defending but Ovella Ochieng couldn't make anything out from it as the ball goes over the line.

02 - Ghana are currently enjoying some possession but over-elaboration from Christian Atsu quells off the attack of the West Africans.

04 - Ghana are playing poorly as Kenya captain Ovella Ochieng strikes a fierce shot at goalkeeper Richard Ofori, but the Maritzburg shot-stopper deals with it without any fuss. The Harambee Stars are all over the Ghanaians now.

06- Offside against Ghana. Atsu makes a smart run to collect Partey's pass but he has caught offside.

07- Free-kick to Ghana. Majeed Waris draws a foul for Ghana at the edge of the area. However, Partey blasts the free-kick into the sky.

10- Kenya nearly break through with a lofty ball but Michael Olunga did not reach the ball as Ofori grasp it.

11' - Ghana waste a corner.

12' - Kenya are looking confident on the ball.

13' - What a hit from Waris. The Nantes forward was put through by Gyasi but his shot went wide.

14' - The hosts are troubling the visitors with their long balls. Olunga beats the back line of Ghana after receiving a long ball from Omar but he's been flagged offside.

16' - Ghana nearly opened the scoring but Partey's shot was feeble to beat Matasi.

19' - Another chance goes begging for Ghana as Waris fails to connect with Andy Yiadom's delightful cross.

20' - Yellow card for Kenya's Abud Omar for reckless tackle on Gyasi. The first man to go into the book of referee Sikazwe.

22'- Chance for Ghana. Onyango slid to clear ball to corner. Can Ghana take advantage of the corner.

26'- A brilliant show-boot there from Gyasi but the end product leaves much to be desired. The crowd are cheering him though.

27' - Free-kick to Ghana as Daniel Opare has been picked from the back by Philemon Otieno. The Royal Antwerp right-back is lying on the deck.

30' - The Black Stars are pinned in their area. They're struggling to come out from their shells.

31' - Fantastic goalkeeping by Ofori. He comes out to clear a long ball but Olunga gets the ball first but his cut-back pass was cleared to corner by Ofori. The Ghana goalie is lying on the turf with a suspected injury. Lawrence Ati-Zigi is warming on the touchline and ready to walk into the fray but it looks like it's not going to happen as Ofori gets on his feet.

34' Kenya nearly made Ghana pay for loss of concentration form the corner but Olunga's header goes off the bar.

35' - Ghana cheaply gives the ball away in their area but Kenya fail to make it count as the attack is foiled.

38' - What an optimistic shot by Johanna. Ofori dives to grab the ball.

GOOOOOOAL! Kenya break the deadlock as Nicholas Opoku puts the ball in his own. The fans are bouncing in ecstasy.

40'- Ghana restart the game from centre.

44' - Another fine cross by Yiadom but goalkeeper Matasi deals with it with a diving punch.

45' - Ghana are rushing the ball now but Acquah was easily disposed off the ball as Kenya breaks but they could not make it count.

HALF TIME: Referee Sikazwe blows his whistle for the end of the first stanza of the game.

Welcome back from recess...The fans are really in ecstatic mood to the hosts half time lead.

02:03pm - We are waiting for the two teams to come out from the changing room.

Kenya has replaced Philemon Otieno with Muhammed made change while Raphael Dwamena also comes on for Edwin Gyasi who had a really quiet first half

Referee Sikazwe blows his whistle for the start of the second half.

45' - Opare fires an ambitious shot off wide. Good start for the four-time African champions

47' - Ghana are all over the hosts which is a good sign but they need to get back into the game with an early minute equalizer before Kenya regroup.

48'- Nice piercing pass by Atsu but Waris was not any breathing space to tuck home. Game on!

52'- Ghana are keeping the ball nicely but their transition is slow.

53' - What a miss! Ghana nearly pulled parity as Partey's corner was missed by Acquah on the goal line of Kenya. It was actually easier to score than miss.

57' - Another miss by Ghana. Atsu breaks free but his final decision let him down as Kenya clear their lines.

58 -Substitution for Ghana. Harrison Afful comes on for Ebenezer Ofori.

60' - Opoku shoots from the edge of the Kenyan area but Matasi was up to the tasked as he easily saves.

61' RED CARD for Kenya. Joash Onyango has seen given a direct red card after tripping Waris on the edge of the box.

63' - Ghana fails to make the most out of the free-kick as Partey's ball hit the human wall. Gonzalez who the ball hit is currently lying on the deck.

65' - Substitution for Kenya as David Ochieng makes way for Omondi.

68' - Dwamena has been caught offside.

69'- Ghana are making incursion but the ball has been kicked over to corner. What can they do with this corner?

71' What a chance for Dwamena. Partey finds Dwamena with a sleek pass inside the opponents box but the UD Levante striker chips the ball over the bar.

73' - Substitution for Ghana as Kwadwo Asamoah makes an entry in pace of Daniel Opare.

77'- The game has been temporary on hold as the medics attend to Omondi.

78' - Chance for Ghana, but Partey's skewed shot goes off wide.

82'- Referee Sikazwe flashes yellow card to Omondi for time wasting

83' - Ghana are pushing more men forward but are finding it difficult to break down the stubborn defense of the Harambee Stars. They are lacking cutting edge upfront.

84'- Kwadwo Asamoah tries his luck from a long distance, his shot goes wide but he is appealing for a corner which referee Sikazwe has turned down.

88' - Harrison Afful tries a long range strike but Matasi dives to his right to comfortably pick the ball.

89' -  The game is temporary on hold as Dennis Odhbiambo is wailing on the turf. He has been replaced by Akumu.

90' - Kenya nearly scored an own goal after Akumu tried to clear Asamoah's through ball. Corner for Ghana.

90+2 - Atsu blasts his ball wide...game over.

It's all over at the Kasarani Stadium as referee Sikazwe blows his whistle for the end of the 90 minutes.

Great game by Kenya. Excellent performance from the Eastern Africans. Ghana are still on top of the group with three points but a better goal difference while Kenya remain third with three points after two games.
