Reading captain Andy Yiadom is nearing a return to senior action after he featured for the U21 side last week.
The 33-year-old, who has been sidelined with a long-term injury since April 2024, is getting closer to full fitness and first-team football.
The former Ghana international suffered a serious knee injury which has kept him for several months.
Reading FC manager Noel Hunt has confirmed the Ghanaian was getting closer to earning a place in the first but admits he has some work to do.
Yiadom played in Reading U21s 3-1 victory over Aston Villa last Friday, coming off the bench for around 30 minutes of valuable game time.
He has been in Berkshire since 2018 when he joined on a free transfer from Barnsley.
Since then he has gone on to make more than 200 appearances in a Royals shirt and will be hoping for more once he fully recovers from injury.
