Real Madrid and AC Milan consider Italy coach

Serie A side AC Milan and Primera Division giants Real Madrid are both considering Italy coach Antonio Conte to take over in the summer.

Los Blancos have only just installed midfield legend Zinedine Zidane as their new coach, replacing Rafa Benitez on a contract until the end of the season that opens the door for Conte to replace the 43-year-old after Euro 2016.

However, Madrid will have to battle the Rossoneri for Conte’s signature, with pressure mounting on Sinisa Mihajlovic although Milan will face an uphill battle to beat Premier League sides Chelsea and Manchester United, as well as Real who considered the Azzurri coach before appointing Zidane, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

It cannot be ruled out, meanwhile, that the former Juventus title-winner decides to stay with the national team after Euro 2016, with FIGC president Carlo Tavecchio wanting Conte to stay on until after the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
