Real Madrid predicted lineup vs Valencia - La Liga

Published on: 17 September 2021

Real Madrid will be looking to strengthen their La Liga title credentials as they visit the Mestalla to face Valencia this weekend.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side will be buoyed by their midweek Champions League success over Inter and they have been in fine form on domestic soil so far this campaign.

Los Blancos have netted 13 times already and the arrival of talented teenager Eduardo Camavinga from Rennes has provided Ancelotti with further attacking weapons, as his side seek to reclaim the title from city neighbours Atletico Madrid.

Here’s how Ancelotti could line his side up.

1. Goalkeeper & defenders

Thibaut Courtois (GK) - The Belgian’s excellent first half performance set the stage for his side’s late triumph in Milan in midweek.

Dani Carvajal (RB) - His return from a lengthy injury absence last month has been welcomed and his attacking threat will be key at the Mestalla.

Eder Militao (CB) - The Brazilian had big shoes to fill with the departures of Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane this summer but he has stepped up admirably in the opening weeks of the season.

Nacho Fernandez (CB) - It speaks to the Spaniard’s quality that he performed excellently despite being shunted out of position in midweek.

David Alaba (LB) - The Austrian moved into central defence at the San Siro but expect him to return to his original position to offer attacking thrust.

2. Midfielders

Casemiro (DM) - The glue which holds Real Madrid’s midfield together, the Brazilian is still searching for a complete performance this season.

Eduardo Camavinga (CM) - The Frenchman already has a goal and an assist in his short Real Madrid career and will become a huge player for Los Blancos in the coming years.

Luka Modric (CM) - Modric showed his class in Real Madrid’s 5-2 win over Celta Vigo last weekend and his experience will be vital this time out.

3. Forwards

Vinicius Junior

Rodrygo (RW) - Netted the winning goal in midweek and should be rewarded with a starting place.

Karim Benzema (ST) - Ancelotti’s chief goal-getter, the Frenchman oozes class and has grabbed five goals already this campaign.

Vinicius Junior (LW) - The 21-year-old is going from strength to strength in a Real Madrid shirt and he could prove the difference maker in Valencia.
