Real Madrid: Sergio Ramos 'clashes with Isco and Marcelo over their poor performance'

Sergio Ramos has clashed with Real Madrid team-mates Isco and Marcelo over their poor performances this season, according to reports in Spain.

Madrid lifted some of the gloom around the club following defeats by Cadiz and Shakhtar Donetsk with a 3-1 victory against Barcelona in El Clasico on Saturday, a match in which Isco and Marcelo were both unused substitutes.

But there appears to still be a lack of harmony in the Spanish champions' dressing room despite the victory at the Nou Camp, with Diario Sport reporting Madrid captain Ramos launched an attack on the duo for their underwhelming displays when they have figured.

The report from the Spanish outlet claims Isco did not back down in his response to the club captain, and that Brazilian Marcelo - another of the team's captains alongside Karim Benzema - was also targeted.

The claims come after Spain international Isco was caught on camera criticising the timing of his substitutions under boss Zinedine Zidane.

Isco was filmed by Spanish TV station Movistar saying: 'If he (Zidane) has to bring me off, he substitutes me in minute 50 or 60 of the game, sometimes at half-time.

'If he has to put me on, he puts me on in the 80th minute.'

The 28-year-old was speaking to Marcelo and Luka Modric when his temper boiled over, and Diario Sport also claim the 32-year-old left back laughed after hearing the former Malaga midfielder's complaints.

Isco has started just two games to date this campaign in a win against Real Valladolid and the defeat by Cadiz - in which he was taken off at half-time - the only LaLiga games that Marcelo has featured in as well this term.

The Brazil defender also captained Madrid in their shock 3-2 defeat by Ukranian outfit Shakhtar last week in his only other appearance during the current campaign, but between the two players they have managed zero goals and just one assist for Zidane's side.

Isco's peripheral status at the Spanish capital side is also highlighted by the fact he has started in just 28 matches of a possible 82 since the start of the 2018/19 La Liga season.

The duo will now have to wait and see if they are involved this week with Madrid in action against Bundesliga outfit Borussia Moenchengladbach on Tuesday.
