Real Valladolid coach Sergio Gonzalez is delighted with the remarkable improvement of Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu.
The 20-year-old, who arrived from Accra-based African Talent Football Academy, two years ago, as been snapped by the English side.
Salisu enjoyed a remarkable run of form in the La Liga to alert the Saint of his immense quality.
He has agreed a four-year deal at St Mary's and Real Valladolid coach Sergio Gonzalez has hailed with the improved quality of the Ghanaian centre-back.
"Last season he was working in the background, he internalised all the work, and now he has a brutal season. Now he has broken the door down. He has been a very consistent on his part," he said
"The important thing is that he knows how to manage all this. He has a teammate and roommate like Kiko Olivas that helps a lot.
"We need to help him, push him, correct him, teach and educate him. The rest he does alone on the field, he is smashing the stages, he is an important central defender."
As it stands, the Ghanaian is undergoing a 14-day quarantine period once he arrives in the UK from Spain due to coronavirus control measures.
