Red Bull Salzburg star Majeed Ashimeru is full of praise for developmental club WAFA for the 'huge role' played in his football career.

The skillful midfielder was spotted by the Sogakope based outfit during his colts days, enrolling him at the Academy where he gained a lot of the basics to his development as a footballer.

Fresh from winning his first two titles with Red Bull Salzburg, the 22-year old revealed his progress as a footballer can be hugely attributed to the knowledge acquired at WAFA.

WAFA really helped me a lot. It is just like a school. A school where you learn a lot. It is an academy where I think every player needs to grow up from. It is an amazing institution that helped me to get to this level. It is always not easy to get to this level but they played a huge role,” he told Tv3.

“It was a great achievement to have learnt something from him.” Ashimeru said. “With Sam Arday, he knew so much about the game. Every player from WAFA around my time will tell you that his knowledge of the game was very good”.
