Red-hot Joseph Painstil scoops MoTM award after playing just 37 minutes of Genk's victory at Union Saint-Gilloise

Ghana winger Joseph Painstil made a massive impact in just 37 minutes of KRC Genk's victory over Union Saint-Gilloise in the Belgium league.

The 24-year-old was named Man of the Match after scoring in the 2-1 win at the Stade Joseph Marien.

The winger was replaced after 37 minutes after appearing to be in discomfort following a knock, but it was enough to earn his the best player accolade.

The Ghanaian has been in excellent form this season, but he was shockingly left out of Otto Addo's squad for this month's friendlies.

Paintsil, one of Ghana's best players abroad, was not included in the 29-man squad for matches against Brazil and Nicaragua.

Instead of demotivating Paintsil, the snub fueled him to score against Union Saint-Gilloise.

The goal is his fourth of the season, and he has one assist, giving him a total of five goal contributions.

Paintsil will be hoping to return to the Black Stars for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
